The Great Gatsby Character Analysis

I feel as if Daisy was a cheater & confused on what she wanted to do. Also since she was called a flapper in the story that supports why I feel that way. Since Daisy had one romantic relationship with Gatsby before she married Tom. I feel with that its going to cause a conflict. In this story yes Daisy was called a flapper but i also believe that it was indirect about her roles of being a cheater even though her actions showed otherwise.

The Devil & Tom Walker Inferences

One theme that i took from the story is "Money is the root of all evil". Its one thing to have money but you shouldn't let the amount of money control your hole life. Another theme that i took from the story was "Money cant you happiness". You could have all the money in the world but still be miserable. Enjoying life is what should make you happy not the amount of money you have in your pocket. Money comes & goes but the amount of time you have live should be most valuable & you should want to spend that with the people you love most. Thats what I got from The Devil Of Tom Walker.

Essay on Themes and Symbols Part II

One of the themes that I got from this story was "Take Your Own Path. The other theme that I got from the story was "Reality Vs Allusion". Take your own path basically came because, he took his own path instead of following everybody elses. Reality Vs Allusion came from because, he was already dead when he was telling a story. The author was a telling a dream & trying to make it a reality.

The role that the man that came to get the drink of water was a major role. The man that came tried to infer that he was something that he wasn't. He tried to pretend that he was somebody from the south. He was acting that he was somebody from the south & even told him stuff to make him believe he was from the south. Further on in the story we learned that he was heading back north but couldn't figure out why. Federal Scouts dress up like there from the south but there really from the North & that's what the guy that got the drink of water did.

Themes & Symbols

A theme that stood out to me the most in a Rose For Emily was gossiping. They were gossiping in the story on several occasions. One occasion when they were gossiping was when they were talking about her taxes, they weren't talking about it around her or in front of her they were talking about it behind her back. Another occasion was when her house had a funny smell they never told her to her face that it smelt funny they gossiped about it.
A symbol found in the story was a Rose. The rose could've been or standed for a lot. I feel like the first thing it standed for her love for Homer. A rose usually stands for or shows somebody how you feel about them. Another symbol was the color black. The color black was a symbol for death & death occurred several times in the story. We had the death of Colonel Satoris Emily, and Homer were all represented by the color black.

I Come From Poem

I Come From

I Come From Honolulu Hawaii Were There's Luaus Every Weekend.
I Come From A Single Military Mother Of Three, Trying Her Best To Give Us Everything.
I Come From My Father Up & Leaving To My Brothers Being In & Out Of Prison.
I Come From Trying to Leave All the Bad Stuff in My Past but Everywhere I Look It’s Always Popping Back Up.

I Come From Trying To Make The Best Of A Life That I Wish Was Better Then What It Was.
I Come From Picking Up The Broken Pieces Of My “FAMILY “So My Nieces & Nephews Can Have A Better Life.
I Come From Not Trusting Everybody Because Of Everything That Has Happened In My Life.
I Come From Always Telling Myself What Doesn't Kill Me Will Make Me Stronger Just To Make It Day By Day.
I Come From Trying To Change My Ways But Every Time I Feel Ahead I Get Knocked Back To A Place Where I Don't Want To Be.
I Don’t Come From The Best But I Don’t Come From The Worst Either , But Either Way I’ll Never Forget Where I Come From.

The Ugly Duckling

In the story The Ugly Duckling I feel like the author taught us a valuable lesson. I feel the lesson was " Never Judge A Book By Its Cover." I saw this example when the baby duckling was born & she came out differnt then all the other ducklings. The other ducklings treated her badly because she was a differnt color. As the duckling got older she because just as beautiful as the other ducklings. An example in real life would be people judgeing other one another based off there physical apperence. In other words when people think there better then someone else because of there looks, & how they dress. Just because they look or dress different doesnt mean they're any less than anyone else.
